LEGO "Brickscapes"

My wife and I were hired to create several calm scenes for LEGO. The builds are original and were designed by my wife. I did all of the animation and lighting. For some of the more subtle and repetitive animation like the trees swaying, I attached the LEGO to small motors and programed the tiny increments. The hardest part of these scenes was animating the LEGO without disturbing the surrounding LEGO... they're so much smaller than they look on screen!!!

The difficulty with this setup was working around all of the LEGO foliage without nudging it!

This one required a lot of planning to get the timing right - the passerby needed to walk and toss the coin with the beat. The butterfly also flutters to the music!

It was fun to figure out how to make that coffee drip. It did require a small "illegal" LEGO modification...ssshhh.

Spent a lot of time figuring out a good cycle for the drip coming out of the fire hydrant.

That deer walking was no joke to animate! I used long LEGO pieces for the squirrel "smear" frames.

We had to build this scene slightly larger than that typical LEGO scale for functional laundry machines.

This one was very tedious - I used two winder rigs for the up & down movement of the "water".

Our first LEGO scene. We wanted to design a cozy kitchen reminiscent of the Weasley's kitchen from Harry Potter.

In-progress. We did a lot of building in front of the camera because it was hard to tell what we'd see.
